Dimensions in N Space: Implurialistic Phasm
This is an engraving directly scribed with a carbide point in a pen-holder
onto a thin aluminum offset letterpress plate .
It is approximately 20 inches by 30 inches and took eight or nine months to complete.
It reflects and shimmers light, giving it the appearance of deep dimension.
It was a commission for a friend.
SESSION
Ringlight
An engraving on a small sheet of a blue-green coated aluminum offset printing plate consisting of thousands of lines scribed directly onto the metal. It is approximately six inches square. This was a wedding gift for friends.
(Don't recall title)
This was a commission for a friend in the 1990's. A piece of a blue-coated aluminum offset printing plate directly scribed by a carbide tip in a pen holder. Approximately eight inches square.
Silvernight
An engraving on a bluegreen piece of an aluminum offset printing plate.
I did this for a show at the Chicago Art Institute Sales and Rental Gallery in the early 1980's.
Stars blending into and behind stars, planet shapes and the border intrustions on the top, bottom and sides.
The border was done with a straight edge, the circles with templates and the stars were done freehand.
It is 22" by 15" framed and took three weeks of intense, time consuming effort.
Silent Landing
An engraving on a green-coated copper plate.
This was a gift for my Father many years ago.
It is approximately eight inches square.
I've done four of these and will post another directly below this.
Each has its own characteristics, but are similar in design and layout.
Silent Flight
This was done on a blank copper plate.
The staining was done with a chemical solution and the black, fog-like coloration is black Magic marker.
